Maxim Akimov holds a meeting with the Association of Innovative Russian Regions

The meeting made proposals as to inclusion of the support objectives for the territories with the high R&D concentration, from the list of the Federation constituent entities – AIRR members, into national projects (programs), developed in accordance with the Russian President’s Decree dated May 7, 2018, No. 204.

Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov held a meeting with the leaders of the Russian Federation constituent entities – members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) through videoconferencing. He noted that the work on this site would continue, and its participants could count on the support of their initiatives and prompt elimination of the obstacles to innovative regional development.

The meeting made proposals as to inclusion of the support objectives for the territories with the high R&D concentration, from the list of the Federation constituent entities – AIRR members, into national projects (programs), developed in accordance with the Russian President’s Decree dated May 7, 2018, No. 204. 

Upon the discussion, Maxim Akimov noted that the regions needed to joint the implementation of the objectives described in the Presidential Decree, which pertain not only to the digital economy but also in other inter-related areas. He instructed the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, together with interested federal executive authorities, to determine which sectoral objectives could be implemented and in which Federation constituent entities. In addition, he called on the regional representatives to work out on the education required for the digital economy development.

The meeting was attended by representatives of federal executive authorities: Mr. Sergey Morozov, Governor, the Ulyanovsk region; Mr. Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor, the Tomsk region; Mr. Anatoly Artamonov, Governor, the Kaluga region; Mr. Alexander Moor, acting Governor, the Tyumen region; Mr. Maxim Reshetnikov, Governor, the Perm territory; Mr. Victor Tomenko, acting Governor, the Altay Territory, Mr. Vladimir Znatkov, acting First Deputy Chairman, the Novosibirsk Region, Mr. Alexander Kobenko, Vice Governor and Minister of Economic Development, Investments and Trade of the Samara Region; Mr. Alexander Sedov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry, Science and New Technologies of Republic of Mordovia; Mr. Ruslan Bolotov, First Deputy Governor, Prime Minister of Irkutsk Region, as well as representatives of authorities of the Lipetsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Area, Republic of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and others.
