Arkady Dvorkovich and Sergey Zhvachkin with the participation of AIRR have discussed the process of implementation of the federal project «INO Tomsk»

Today, the 19th of May, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Arkady Dvorkovich as a part of a working visit to the Tomsk region is holding a joint meeting of the federal working group on the implementation of the concept of creation of innovative territory center «INO Tomsk» and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).

The head of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin when opening the session, reminded that the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev adopted the draft of the five-year project «INO Tomsk»  in the first working day of 2015 – it means that the first half of the five-year plan has almost passed. Among its main results the head of the region mentioned growth of manufacturing industry (6 innovation clusters of the region contributed a lot to that), improvement of the investment climate (the Tomsk region takes the 12th place in the National rating of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, outpacing all the Siberian regions) and the concentration of human capital (in the Tomsk region the youth population is growing, including those of the employment age).

«In order not to lose and strengthen the result, we consider it necessary to work together in those two directions of our collaboration. The first thing to do is not to allow that a young person after «Quantorium» or «Sirius», having participated in the NTE Olimpiada (Olimpiada of National Technological Entrepreneurship) felt the difference when continuing at a University. Our aim is to create at Universities scientific base for students at the 1st year of studying in order to bridge the gap in the quality of education, technology and equipment. Our second step is collaboration between government, business and Universities in order to turn Universities into centers of technological and social entrepreneurships. We will hold this work within the framework of the priority project of the Ministry of Education and Science «Universities as creation of innovation centers» - highlighted the interim governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin.
