Saint Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan and Moscow led the Rating of Innovation Development of the Regions of Russia following the year 2018, while Tatarstan managed to improve its positions and ranked up by one rank, as materials of AIRR rating presented on Tuesday at the Gaidar Forum suggest.
The rating is prepared annually by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) based on 29 indicators, including number of students and researchers, intensity of expenses on technological innovations, share of high-tech and science intensive industries in the GRP, attraction of investments from federal sources to the innovative sphere of the regional economy to GRP, support of implementation of innovative projects by federal development institutions. In preparation of the rating following the year 2018, such indicator as intensity of public innovative events was completely considered for the first time.
