Today within the VII Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2017 the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Sultan ben Saeed Al Mansoori and the management of the Dubai Centre for Islamic Banking and Finance.
The parties warmly greeted each other as long-time friends. It was remarkable that the UAE Minister of Economy has already visited Tatarstan to partake in Kazansummit-2014 and knows Rustam Minnikhanov personally.
During the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov requested Sultan ben Saeed Al Mansoori to express his gratitude to the Emir of Dubai, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the honor of participating in the AIM and for the hospitality, and also asked to take under his personal control the invitation of Emir to the Republic of Tatarstan.
“Every year we partake in the Dubai Investment Forum, one of the largest and most reputed meetings of investors in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. The UAE for us − one of the most attractive partners for fostering bilateral economic contacts,” − emphasized the President of Tatarstan.
Then the parties discussed the promising areas of cooperation. Some Tatarstan companies are already establishing relations with the UAE. For example, a regional representative office of KAMAZ is operating there, it is planned to open a representative office of Kazan Helicopter Plant, this region is also interesting to Zelenodolsk Shipyard. These companies have participated in the international defensive IDEX exhibition several times, and today it is necessary to maintain the interest in them in the countries of the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The representatives of the Dubai Center for Islamic Banking and Finance also took part in the meeting with the UAE Minister of Economy the Sultan ben Saeed Al Mansoori. The introduction of financial instruments of partnership (Islamic) banking into Russia and their development were discussed. As of today the Republic of Tatarstan is a pilot region for the introduction of the principles of Islamic banking and financing in Russia. Thus, Tatarstan is open for comprehensive cooperation in this area with the Dubai Center for Islamic Banking and Finance.
